October 2017 - Rio Metro, in partnership with the Pueblo of Isleta, is pleased to announce two new transit services beginning Monday, December 4, 2017. Bus route 208 will provide weekday bus service between Belen and Downtown Albuquerque, with stops in Los Lunas, Peralta, Bosque Farms and the Pueblo of Isleta. Rio Metro will also be bringing its Dial-a-Ride service to the Pueblo.
September 2017 - Effective Monday, December 4, 2017, Rio Metro will no longer operate bus routes 504/505B in the early morning. These routes will be restructured to provide weekday, mid-day service from Valencia County and the Pueblo of Isleta to Downtown Albuquerque. Up until that date, routes 504/505B will operate according to their current schedule.
November 2016 - On Monday, December 5, 2016, several changes will go into effect for Rio Metro’s Sandoval County bus routes. While these changes will primarily affect bus route 201, all riders using bus routes 8, 201, 202 and 204 are encouraged to visit the Rio Metro website for detailed information.
March 2015 - The Rio Metro Regional Transit District is making changes to the bus Riders Guide. A new Deviated Fixed Route Policy and No-Show Policy for the buses have also been developed. These policies will become effective on April 6, 2015.
The Rio Metro Regional Transit District is evaluating options to improve transit services in Valencia County in response to growth and economic development in the region. Rio Metro's Valencia County Service Improvement Plan includes potential bus routes that serve key roads, businesses and popular destinations. The final improvements will be based on public comment, funding, and an evaluation of the initial routes implemented.
