Belen, with its history of train travel and well-established communities, welcomes everyone to experience the old-fashioned values of its citizens. The "Hub City" serves the New Mexico Rail Runner Express and BNSF rail systems. To this day, an average of 110 trains travel through Belen in a 24-hour period on the Southern Transcon. Many restaurants, museums and local arts surround this close-knit community of approximately 7,000.
